The former goalkeeper and Valencia CF legend speaks to VCF Media Radio about the current situation of the team
Maxi Gómez is already on the comeback trail following his metatarsal surgery on Tuesday, and was at the Ciudad Deportiva on Saturday to begin his recovery work. The Uruguayan striker had undergone a procedure in Barcelona to treat a fractured fifth metatarsal of his left foot.
In the first stage of his recovery, Gómez was given magnetic therapy, undertook muscle strengthening work and flexibility exercises. He still has a long way to go before he can return to action, but has taken his first step towards getting back to full fitness for the final games of the season.
Gómez' appearance was undoubtedly one of the positive points of the morning, and extra motivation for the squad as they worked with their Champions League Last 16 game against Atalanta BC in mind.
